University of Minnesota Duluth - Cycling Club
UMD Cycling Club is welcoming to all levels of interest in cycling. Our core group of memebers, however, is involved in competititive road, mountain and cyclocross racing. We take part in weekly group rides of varying speeds and distances around the Duluth area and in winter spin sessions. We are also a voice for cycling in the Duluth area by backing initiatives to promote commuting by increasing the visibility of cycling in the community.
History of the UMD Cycling Club
UMD Cycling Club began in 2007 as an offshoot of the Nordic Ski Club and became a separate entity in the spring of that year. Since then, the club has gradually expanded to include a large and diverse group of dedicated cyclists. The club has gone from a group of students interested in exploring the Duluth area by bike to a competitive group racing collegiate and citizen races around the midwest.
